2026-04-27.1_the spectre of autonomy
any and all masters are permanently haunted by the spectre of the autonomy – potential & real – of their servants/slaves. that autonomy which is the master’s absolute existential horizon, beyond which their role as master ceases to exist. this fact lies at the source of exploitative and oppressive social relations, since exploitation and oppression are ultimately the only methods capable of averting/preventing – although never finally* – the autonomous tendency. only further downstream do factors such as alienation and a disgusting infatuation for the exercise of power over others come into play.
therefore condemning “abuses” of power can only get us so far, as those struggling comprehensively against their and their communities’ exploitation and oppression have always known. an “abuse” of power is only a symptom of the actual disease: the existence of social relations based on anything else other than the autonomy, solidarity and activity of collective workers.
* since this would necessitate completely destroying the exploited and oppressed classes, which would of course in turn mean the complete(-ly idiotic) destruction of the masters as well.
